SCOUT COFFEE
Many hands make light work
Merch Design, Illustration
Scout Coffee approached me to refresh their merchandise following a rebrand from Scout & Co to Scout Coffee. With three shops in Burlington, their brand is rooted in community, and they wanted graphics for tote bags, shirts, and sweaters that felt inclusive, modern, and playful.
I was drawn to the idea of hands holding coffee cups and ice cream cones in motion, symbolizing the shared rituals that bring people together at Scout. After exploring multiple variations with different colors and details, the project became a lesson in simplification. Paring the design down to essential lines created a cohesive composition, while fabric and ink choices provided all the needed variation.
While I initially suggested using Scout as a border, the owner preferred a larger, more legible presentation. The final line art could be screen printed across different fabrics and ink colors, conveying unity and inclusivity while reinforcing Scout’s refreshed identity and community-focused ethos.
